SAP System Upgrade

Good as SAP is, it is constantly being updated with improved functionality, bug fixes and changes due to legislative demands. It is important to keep your system as up-to-date as your change management model allows and in the most part this updating is carried out by the application of SAP notes and support packages or stacks. There comes a time, though, when the system which you are running needs to be moved to a more current release in order to either simplify it’s on-going support or because SAP no longer support your original release.

In an ideal world an upgrade would be a relatively simple task, with no customer development, no external system connectivity and unlimited downtime possible. This is rarely the case. Normally an SAP upgrade project demands careful planning and the joint efforts of the client, application support provider and the technical consultancy performing the physical upgrade itself.
